About Laser Pigment Removal

Pigmented lesions, including freckles, sun spots, and age spots, can cause your skin to appear dull and aged. With our advanced Clarity Laser technology, we can effectively remove these unwanted spots, revealing a brighter, more youthful complexion. This precise laser treatment targets pigmentation, helping to restore an even skin tone and improve overall radiance.

By eliminating pigmentation, you’ll experience clearer, healthier-looking skin that appears rejuvenated and refreshed.

How it works

During a treatment, the pigment absorbs the energy from the laser. With our long pulsed Alexandrite wavelength, we can safely and effectively target these pigmented lesions without causing much trauma to the surrounding tissue. Once the pigment is absorbed by the laser energy, it will get darker. Over the next 7-10 days, it will dry up and begin to look like coffee grounds, and then slowly slough off. This procedure offers the advantage of improving skin tone and surface discolouration in as few as
3-5 treatments.

FAQ

How many treatments are needed?

We always recommend a series of three to five treatments about four weeks apart. You can expect to see a major decrease in your pigmentation as well as a firmer and more youthful skin tone. Results and amount of treatments required will vary from each client, depending on their skin, their concern, and goals. We highly recommend incorporating medical grade skin care and daily sun protection to help get the best results from your treatment as well as maintain and continue your results.

Are the treatments comfortable?

A pigment removal treatment only takes about 30 minutes. When the pulse of energy is delivered, clients will experience a mild snapping or pinching sensation. Most people experience some discomfort during the treatment, but find it tolerable and worth it for the results.

How much is each treatment?

Pricing varies depending on your skin concerns and how many treatments you will require. Please book a consultation to go over details.

Is there any downtime or any restrictions post treatment?

Shortly following the treatment, pigmented spots often begin to appear darker or intensified before they slough off. This process may take 7-10 days. Our jane iredale mineral make-up can be applied to cover any redness and darker pigment. It is important to refrain from anything that causes excessive heat or sweat for 24 hours following your treatment. The sun, including sunless tanning beds must be avoided for a minimum 7 days post treatment. The use of sunscreen is highly recommended on any areas that are exposed to the sun (all year long even in the fall and winter).

Am I a good candidate for treatment?

Treatments are safe and effective for Fitzpatrick Skin Types 1-3 (and light Skin Types 4) who are looking to improve their sun damage. Both men and women are candidates, but the treatment can cause minor hair reduction over the treated areas so men may wish to only have areas outside their beard treated. Pigment removal treatments can make you more photosensitive so the fall or winter may be the best time for treatments depending on your lifestyle. Sun exposure also needs to be avoided prior to treatment for a minimum of 2 weeks. Consultations are always complimentary and the best way for us to determine whether or not this treatment is right for you!
