FAQ
How many treatments are needed?

3-5 sessions of Lumecca is recommended. This may vary slightly from person to person. It’s important to remember rosacea is not a curable condition so maintenance treatments are required after your initial series. Sun exposure, excess oil, and harsh exfoliants can all contribute to redness so it’s important to support your treatments with our medical grade skin care for best results.
Are the treatments comfortable?

When the energy is delivered, you might feel a bit of a spike of heat or a pinch in the treated area. This discomfort won’t last long.
How much is each treatment?

Is there any downtime or any restrictions post treatment?

After IPL, vessels and pigment may appear darker and the treated area may be red. Bruising may occur, however this discolouration is only temporary. The use of sunscreen is MANDATORY on any treated areas that are exposed to the sun.
Am I a good candidate for treatment?

IPL is safe on light to medium skin tones (Fitzpatrick skin types 1-4). Sun avoidance is required for a minimum three weeks prior to a sessiom. Some topical skin care products need to be avoided prior to treatment and certain medications are contraindications for treatment.
technicians will conduct a free consultation to determine whether or not you are a good candidate for these treatments and ensure you’re properly prepared for your session.
